Parish Council Meeting Summary:

Following on from the Parish Council meeting held on the 1st February, below is a brief summary of our meeting:

Highways have informed us that the drain in Beck Hole has been cleared, we have now gone back to them to ask them to jet the pipework, as there is still debris which is causing the lack of drainage.
They have also been advised of the poor condition of the road from the War Memorial to Vicky Bank, unfortunately this is not a current priority for them and will continue to be monitored by their department.
We are also liaising with them to replace a grit bin on Vicky Bank which was damaged in the bad weather.

Beck Hole Bridge will be closed for essential bridge maintenance work, the works are programmed to commence on the 27th February 2023 and will last for approximately 4 weeks. During this time the road will be closed to all traffic and pedestrians, a signed diversion will be put into place.

The Duchy of Lancaster were able to join us at the meeting, with the ongoing issues discussed. The Duchy of Lancaster are aware of the importance of local housing in our village, and this will be discussed by the Head Trustee of the Duchy of Lancaster. There has been a delay in this due to King Charles III taking over control of the Duchy.
The Pinfold will be having a new gate installed.
Disappointment was raised at the lack of ditch clearing that was carried out, the drain near the car park has been more the area of concern, as after having a drainage assessment carried out, the system has been described as being "at capacity" due partly to the surface water runoff from the surrounding land, the Duchy will be addressing the issues in collaboration with other agencies.
The "No Overnight Parking" signage from Cherry Tree to Hunt House Road that was requested by the council are currently being quoted for.

Tenders are going out for Grass Cutting, Thistle Spot Spraying and General Village Maintenance. If you are interested, please contact the Clerk or a councillor who can provide further details.

We have no further update on the Coastliner Service, once we are aware of any information, this will of course be disseminated to yourselves.

We do still have councillor vacancies and would welcome you to come and join us to help improve and maintain our village. Please come along to a meeting, speak to councillors or drop us a message at goathlandpc@hotmail.co.uk

Many thanks
